Girl Scouts
April 6th from 6 – 8 pm at Ballard Nature Center. Fun Patch Night For Brownies, Juniors, & Cadettes. Explore the trail and have lots of fun learning about birds that are active at night. Live Music: Freddy & Francine
April 6th at 7 pm in the Effingham County Courthouse Museum. The Ada Kepley Music Series is a Poss Music Works production that takes place in the Effingham County Courthouse Museum. It is an alcohol FREE event and a listening room atmosphere. April’s show features Freddie and Francine, $20 ticket, only 100 available. Freddy & Francine is an Americana-Soul duo comprised of Bianca Caruso & Lee Ferris. With voices reminiscent of Aretha Franklin & Van Morrison, their songs blend Soul, R&B, Folk, and Americana with a modern, yet timeless appeal to all ages. Modern Mama Market

Boutique Blvd
April 13th from 4 – 8 pm and 14th from 10 am – 4 pm at the Thelma Keller Convention Center for all ages. Grease Sing-Along
April 14th at 7 pm in the Effingham Performance Center. The brand new sing-along version of the classic film, Grease, starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John is brought to you by the producers of Sound of Music Sing-Along. Ever wanted to know what it’s like to be a T-Bird or Pink Lady, but never quite felt cool enough to pull it off? Well, now is your chance to don those pink jackets, grease up those quaffs and let your inhibitions go for an evening when you are the stars. Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl for Kids’ Sake Fundraiser
April 17th, 19th, and 27th at 6 pm at Pagel Silver Dollar Lanes. April will bring on one of BBBS’ biggest fundraisers, Bowl for Kids’ Sake. This year’s theme is Rock ‘n Bowl. Gather 3-5 friends, family members, co-workers, etc. and come out to Pagel Silver Dollar Lanes for a great time of bowling, food, drinks, prizes and fun! Each team member will need to raise a minimum of $50 in pledges which will go to support the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. Feel free to dress for the theme as trophies are awarded in the categories of Best Dressed and Most Funds Raised! Laser Spectacular featuring the Music of Pink Floyd
April 20th at 8 pm in the Effingham Performance Center. In its 30th year of successful touring, Paramount’s Pink Floyd Laser Spectacular has become a cult classic. Teach Kids to Save

Central Illinois Lure Meet
April 21st at 7 pm in the Effingham Event Center. Central Illinois Lure Meet will be having an Antique and Collectible Fishing Show. Kids under the age of 12 accompanied with a parent get in for free. Admission charge for everyone else will be a $5. Come out and enjoy a great day of antiques and collectible fishing lures. Ladies Tea
April 21st from 10 am – 1 pm at the Austin Mansion. Doors open at 9:30 am. While eating lunch and sipping on tea, enjoy a fashion show put on by area boutiques. Models will walk through the parlors for an up close fashion show experience. Afterwards, take a tour of the beautiful property and go shopping at those area boutiques! Fee: $24 per person. Jimmy Wayne
April 21st at 7 pm at the Effingham Performance Center. See the singer/songwriter, author and motivational speaker at Effingham Performance. VIP tickets are available and include a meet and greet prior to the show, snacks and refreshments from 5 – 6 pm. Program starts at 7 pm. Jimmy Wayne is a foster kid-turned country recording artist who is bringing his story to the Effingham Performance Center in an event sponsored by the Effingham Mentoring Program and CASA of Effingham County. Plant for Earth Day Drop In

April 26th from 10 am – 2 pm. Turn in your unused or expired medication for safe disposal. Medical Lincoln: The Health of our 16th President
April 26th at 7 pm in the Effingham County Courthouse Museum. Please join us next month for the 4th Annual Lincoln celebration. Enjoy the period music and learn about our 16th President. April 30th at Community Park Mike Sehy Field for boys in grades 3rd – 5th. Khoury League is your child’s first experience with baseball competition. The teams are formed by a draft system. Level 10 baseballs are used and the pitching and base distances are 46′ and 60′ respectively. Please list current grade on registration form. Registrations accepted through March 1st. Rock for Kids
May 5th at 5 pm in the Effingham Performance Center. This is to benefit Crisis Nursery of Effingham County featuring three awesome bands; Mustang Sally, Original Rhythm Pigz and Soul Riot. 2nd Annual Mother’s Day Craft Fair

May 7th at Evergreen Hollow Park Fast Pitch Diamonds for girls in grades 2nd – 3rd. This is the first league where girls pitch themselves. Pitching distance is 35′ and 11″ softballs are used. Pony League
May 16th at Gene Niccum Field in Community Park for boys in second grade. The season begins as a coach-pitch league, but once every team has played a few games, the teams have the option of having players pitch to prepare them for the more advanced leagues. Level 5 baseballs are used and the pitching and base distances are 46′ and 60′ respectively. Coaches and park district athletic director work together to form teams. Please list current grade on registration form. Registrations accepted through April 20th. Fee: $25 if you reside in the district and $57 out of district. Chris Perondi’s Stunt Dog Experience
May 19th at 3 pm in the Effingham Performance Center. Chris Perondi’s Stung Dog Experience showcases the talents of high-flying, acrobatic, and agile dogs – each with unique talents and signature moves to showcase. Husband and wife team Chris and Suhey Perondi, along with their son Anthony, work with each dogs individual ability, athleticism, and intelligence then place them in segments that they excel the most. These talented celebrity dogs have been showcased on Animal Planet dozens of times, The Tonight Show, Ellen, Oprah, Sports Illustrated and much more. Their mission is to promote pet adoption, responsible pet ownership, and educate on the importance of spaying and neutering. Fee: Top Tier $33, Level A $23, and Level B $17. May 30th at Evergreen Hollow Park Fast Pitch Diamonds for girls in grades 9th – 11th. This league is being offered to 9th – 11th grade high school players. We need a minimum of 30 registrations for this league to go forward. Please register by March 1st. Regulation 12″ softballs are used. Pitching distance is 43″. T-Ball League
June 2nd at Evergreen Hollow Park or Community Park for boys and girls ages 4 – 5. T-Ball develops the primary baseball skills of hitting, fielding and throwing. Official tee-balls are used and the bases are 50′. This is a coach-pitch league and all games are played on Saturday mornings. Registrations accepted through April 20th.
